Detroit, MI (April 25, 2019)– The more things change, the more they stay the same. That was the story this off-season as Buhl Sport’s team Racing4Detroit, who partnered with Champion® last season, has teamed with DRiV Incorporated for the 2019 Americas Rallycross (ARX) season. Following Tenneco’s expected separation to form two new, independent companies, DRiV™ will be one of the largest global multi-line, multi-brand aftermarket companies, and one of the largest global OE ride performance and braking companies. Champion® is one of 14 brands in the DRiV portfolio of brands that is over 100 years old, among a number of well-known and reputable brands.

“We’re looking forward to our partnership with Buhl Sport Detroit and getting the new DRiV name and logo in front of our customers, our employees, and of course, the Rallycross audience,” said the company’s chief marketing officer, Scott Usitalo, at a launch event today at a Monroe/Walker facility in Monroe, MI.

The company set up its new DRiV Experience trailer to educate its employees on the scope of the new brand lineup. Alongside the trailer, the Buhl Sport Detroit team introduced the DRiV branded race car and lookalike show car to employees and their families on “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” and will setup in Southfield, MI, at the current Federal-Mogul offices tomorrow. Heading Detroit’s team is Robbie Buhl, former IndyCar Series driver and owner.

“When it comes to ride quality and performance, DRiV really has some incredible brands,” Buhl said. “We are excited to represent DRiV and draw attention to these products while continuing to forge new partnerships rooted in Detroit.”

Racing4Detroit enters its second year of ARX competition after a strong showing in 2018, capped by a double-header sweep at Circuit of The Americas in September. The back-to-back wins in the final two races of the season pushed the team up to 3rdoverall in the ARX2 Championship standings.

The 2019 championship increases to nine rounds of ARX2 at four locations in North America. After starting at Mid-Ohio, the series moves to Gateway Motorsports Park, just outside St. Louis, for the first time, returns to Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, and Austin, TX, and finishes out the season again at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in October.
