Alex Keyes back with Racing4Detroit for 2019 Americas Rallycross season
Detroit, MI (May 28, 2019) – With the 2019 Americas Rallycross season just weeks away, Buhl Sport Detroit has confirmed that Alex Keyes will return as driver of the #4 Racing4Detroit ARX2 entry. Keyes put forth a strong effort last season, finishing 3rd overall in ARX2 Championship standings, and landing on the podium three times. Two of those times—the final weekend doubleheader at Circuit of The Americas—Keyes was on top.
“I’m excited to be back with Buhl Sport this season and ready to pick up where we left off on the top step of the podium,” Keyes said. “There are a few new race tracks that I’m looking forward to getting out on and learning. It’s been a long offseason but Round 1 is finally here!”
Team owner Robbie Buhl is also happy to have Alex back after performing very well last year. “Alex really showed us his ability last year and proved himself, not putting a wheel wrong in adverse conditions,” Buhl said. “Especially after winning both races to end the season, he earned the job.”
The #4 car was headed for Ohio early last week for a pre-season shakedown and then is off to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for Rounds 1 and 2 on June 8th and 9th. The Racing4Detroit team is anxious to get back out on the track and in front of the fans to show off, who Keyes describes as “an exciting new sponsor,” DRiV Incorporated.
