Saturday night marked Detroit Historical Society's annual Society Ball, which took place at the State Savings Bank in downtown Detroit. "Break the Bank with Detroit Historical Society" also marked a great honor for one of our own. Tom Buhl served as Chairman of the Board for DHS from 2010-2019 and was honored for his time, commitment to Detroit, and preservation of its history with the 2020 Moving Forward Award.

Tom was board chair during several notable events, including the Historical Society's "Past>Forward" capital campaign, which raised $21 million, and creation of the internationally acclaimed "Detroit 67: Perspectives" exhibit. Tom will continue to serve as a board member of DHS in addition to his other philanthropic involvements with Detroit Zoological Society, Henry Ford Hospital, and College for Creative Studies, to name a few.
