Pair of teens from Romeo High School win Teen Street Skills Award in annual Courageous Persuaders video competition
The Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) awarded nearly $25,000 in scholarships and awards to courageous high school students who took a stand to raise awareness amongst their peers on the dangers of underage drinking, drinking and driving, and texting while driving.
The DADA is the primary sponsor and administrator of the Courageous Persuaders program, which is facilitated through the DADA Education Foundation. “Courageous Persuaders provides a platform for bright young minds to take a stand against everyday pressures and convey thought-provoking messages to their peers,” said Rod Alberts, DADA Executive Director.
Through our partnership between Teen Street Skills and the DADA, two students from Romeo High School in Washington, MI, were on the receiving end of a $1,000 scholarship. Their clever and very well produced "Game Over" television commercial was one of 700+ entries, in which middle school students vote on winners.
The award ceremony, which was to be held Wednesday, April 29th, at Emagine Royal Oak was unfortunately canceled, due to the current health crisis, however, the competition was carried through by the DADA and winners rewarded none-the-less!
